Pamela Ellis - Background
At the age of 20, and a White Belt in Tae Kwon Do, I took the W.I.S.E. program. Today, 20 years later, it's still the most profound thing I've ever done. The course was developed by my Martial Arts instructor who is also a Police Officer and trainer of the SWAT team. Therefore, the course has been designed by someone who sees street violence every day. The theory of the W.I.S.E. program is from a law enforcement perspective, with skills derived from the Martial Arts.
It is a very REAL experience, and everything we learn has practical application that becomes natural to execute. Very simple but effective techniques.
Currently, I hold a 3rd degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do (the art of kicking, striking, and blocking), a Brown Belt in the art of Judo (the art of throwing and pinning), and a Brown Belt in the art of Hapkido (pain compliance through joint manipulation and pressure points). I am also on a team that trains the US military in Close Quarters Combat prior to deployment to Iraq.
In 2005 I developed the KIDS Matter! course which involves young children (ages 3-15) and their parents, teaching them ways to prevent abductions and defend against perpetrators & home invasions.
I feel a responsibility to share what I know with others, and I am qualified to help.
